The irascible Lucy Van Pelt tricks Charlie Brown into kicking the football, but at the last minute she pulls it back and sends him flying onto his back. Although he loses the spelling bee, his friends gladly welcome Charlie Brown back to town upon his return. Formerly confined to the comics section of the newspaper and occasional TV specials, the Peanuts gang now stars in its own weekly cartoon. The episodes mainly follow the goings-on in the printed comics, with Charlie Brown still not getting any respect, Lucy still being a crab, and Snoopy still living in his strange fantasy world.

Snoopy breaks his foot and must wear a cast, which proves complicated when he has to play for Peppermint Patty's baseball team. Meanwhile, Woodstock grows a moxia.cc beanstalk to the sky, where he and Snoopy meet a cookie-hoarding giant. Finally, the youngest of the Van Pelts has to deal with various problems.
